What was most difficult about completing this task?
It was very difficult to understand the reading that I had to do about the protocol but I could say I understood a little bit.

I could probably give the class more information on what the page was about and explain a little more.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past?
Relates to me learning about the environment I guess.
How can you apply this to future learning?
I could teach people about the protocol about the stream and fishpond.
Plastic Essay
The plastic essay was to talk about the process in making plastic, how was plastic recycled, and which country recycled the most. Recycling plastic is not the same process as recycling glass or metal due to the greater number of steps that it takes. The use of dye, filler, and resin also plays a part. The process begins with sorting the items by the number of resin content. There are benefits to recycling, yet only about a quarter of waste is recycled in the U.S. according to the EPA and just 60% of communities in the country have curbside recycling bins, for plastic the rate is 8% another 16% is incarcerated, the 76% ends up in landfills. In 2017, only 94.2 million tons of that waste was either recycled or composted.
That is only about 35 percent of the total amount and taking that into account that only 8 percent of discarded plastics were recycled that year. Recycling allows us to reclaim valuable resources from waste, helping to prevent landfills and to protect wildlife. One country is Germany, whose recycling system began in 1991 with its Green Dot System, gathering waste from homes and organizations. Citizens themselves are responsible for sorting their waste and preventing potential landfills.
